Childhood revisited

One thing I’ve been meaning to make since I had kids was one of my childhood favourites, Sloppy Joes. I always assumed that I’d need a packet mix to get that authentic taste but having found only one importer which is always sold out, I did some Googling and found a recipe that I liked the sound of.
This was the result of Ed and I’s cooking this Saturday. (and don’t tell the hubby but I’m seriously starting to enjoy cooking once a week!)

It was SO good. SO flipping good.

The proud chef!

This afternoon the girls and I trundled into town to shop for tea with ‘Ruby’ our new Pramette. A GORGEOUS early ’80′s (I suspect) Mothercare pushchair/carrycot combo. My wonderful friend N found Ruby sitting in a charity shop in Birmingham and managed to get her for the princely sum of £15.

And today…

Ruby pushes beautifully and Miss Sis loved the high up ride and the space to keep her bag of books, bottle and nuggy. I think she likes the freedom that reins give as opposed to a tight 5 point harness in a modern pushchair.

When We returned from our jaunt we found wet, laughing boys chasing eachother around the estate. Even Biggest had put down his Xbox controller in order to join in and it looked like terrific, healthy summer holiday fun!
